Description
The story of wine is all about wine, including a little about its history in South Africa, different types of wine and how it is made. The book takes the reader on a journey with the process of making wine in South Africa. It describes how fruit turns into wine, how the grapes are grown and picked in vineyards, the first wine in the country, the different types of wine, how each type is made, and the bottling and labelling of the finished product. Each chapter has pictures with captions, such as grape vines, how the bunches are cut from the vines and wine cellars. A word help section at the end gives simple explanations for more complex words in the book, such as climate and ripe, to expand the reader’s vocabulary. The Made in South Africa series is a set of seven books about things that are proudly made in South Africa. Follow our Facebook page for the latest news and updates on this and other series.
