It presents an insight into the ups and downs of environmental campaigning within the context of modern events and attitudes. The inside story of Friends of the Earth’s pioneering campaigns is revealed – from the anti-whaling campaigns of the 1970s through to the anti-road campaigns of the present. The narrative bears witness to the broader process still unfolding: the maturing of the environmental movement and the challenges that a highly uncertain new millenium holds for tomorrow’s green campaigners.
